Public Relations Manager - The Salvation Army in San Antonio, TX

Plans, directs, monitors and evaluates all public relations functions for San Antonio Area Command to ensure that The Salvation Army maintains a favorable and positive image in the community serves as liaison to all media, ensuring the desired message is communicated assist in the creation of a communications strategy for San Antonio Area Command to ensure that The Salvation Armys message is effectively delivered to its audiences and that programs and services are designed to meet client and stakeholders needs. Plans and implements public relations and marketing programs. Coordinates internal and external public relations activities for the Area Command including all corps and service centers designated to the Area Command.Contacts the media to create awareness and special interest or events of The Salvation Army serves as a Salvation Army representative or spokesperson as directed. Writes copy for press releases, articles, Website , social media newsletters, brochures, annual reports, fund-raising letters, video scripts, targeted at donors, corporations, and volunteers.Develops Media outreach strategies to strengthen media relations and partnerships by continuing to build on relationships with assigned media outlets to keep The Salvation Army in front of the public. Pitches stories, arranges interviews, and supplies info to journalists and sources, Maintains up-to-date media lists.Organizes and implements special events such as luncheons, banquets, groundbreakings, building dedications. Organizes interaction with the community to include open houses, tours, and like activities.Supervises and participated in the creation, preparation andor upgrading of promotional materials to include Annual Reports, brochures, newsletters, and programs reviews current publicity tracking methods and improves as necessary.
